Last Wednesday evening on scoug-irc-help, I received direction for fixing a sound card driver on my ThinkPad A22m laptop.
I mentioned that a driver I installed from the cirrus logic site for the cs 4614 card. Everything sound wise works with this driver installed. However, when booting the system freezes at the very end of the boot process. The blue screen with the clock icon in the middle of the eCS 1.1 page locks right before the workplace shell icons appear. Alt-Cont-Delete has no affect. A hard shut off with the power switch, on/off button, is the only way to stop the freeze. This morning I tried 5 times starting, going thru boot process to this point and having to poweroff with the on/off switch. I was unsuccessful in starting the system.
In the help session on Wednesday, I also said I'd tried a Uniaud driver found on a Russian os/2 site. That same driver is found on the eCS site. I've tried both and I get sound with the cd rom, but system sounds are garbled or do not work. .WAV files for the most part are not discernable. The Russian driver is better than the driver on the eCS site, but really not useful. They do allow full boot, however.

In the help session StevenL mentioned something about a timing issue. Is there anything that I can do to adjust the timing or whatever is needed to get this cirrus cs4614 driver which is the correct driver for the sound chip to work correctly?
