I just recently learned that there's an internal buffer limitation on  
the INI files, and if they get "too big" you have problems.  
 
I ran CleanINI on my OS2SYS.INI file a couple of days ago and dropped it  
from 1.3 MB down to 480 KB.  Yowza, all kinds of problems disappeared.  
 
John, how big are your OS2*.INI files?  
 
  cd \OS2  
  dir /as OS2*.INI
