This is most likely related to page content. If the browser is told that
the page changed, which is likely with so much dynamic content, you will
not be able to return to the prior location.
This is one of the reasons tabbed browsing is so useful. When I want to
maintain page position, I use Ctrl-click to open the link in a new page.
This way the page content will not affect my ability to return to a prior
location.
