With all this mix and match code, it's hard to keep track of what's
installed on everyone else's systems. ;-)

I guess one of the files in ETC is confusing MTPS. It could also be
something in config.sys. You will find it eventually. You could force a
process dump on the hung mtps and see which files it has open. That will
probably be a clue.

It's just a failure mode PMDLL is not prepared to handle. If suspect you
have the "Test load DLLs" option enabled. When this option is enabled,
the DLL InitTerm functions will run, so PMDLL is subject to any failure
that might occur within these routines.

I'm sure I could find a way to avoid the failure, but it's probably more
work than it's worth and you really don't want to recreate the environment
that caused the failure or do you? :-)
