Did you run with the /V switch? 
FWIW, the driver supports some additional switches, which may be otherwise 
undocumented:

Serial converter type 
You should be able to figure out how to use them.  Give them a try a let 
me know if they allow the device to be recognized?

You were supposed to supply a file name, assuming you did not want me to 
have to spend time tracking it down.  IAC,  I'm not sure why it did not 
complain.  Probably because it knows the card is a PCCard and may not be 
installed at boot time.
