This is just a warning. As you suspected it is an ideosyncracy of OS/2.

And I'm not sure what you are trying to tell me here.

You are not supposed to have a file name BOOT_CAT.BIN on your M: drive.

This should not matter.

I ran a small test using a setup very similar to yours:

[j:\tmp\0]mkisofs -v -o tmp.iso -r -J -b OSBOOT.IMG -c boot.cat i:/

Which resulted in:

[j:\tmp\0]mkisofs -v -o tmp.iso -r -J -b OSBOOT.IMG -c boot.cat i:/

Size of boot image is 2880 sectors -> Emulating a 1.44 meg floppy Total

Total directory bytes: 9164
Path table size(bytes): 58

800 extents written (1 Mb)

The boot image is on drive I: (i.e. in a source path)

[j:\tmp\0]dir /m i:\OSBOOT.IMG

Volume in drive I is DRIVEI Serial number is A844:D415
Directory of I:\OSBOOT.IMG

8-18-04 11:00 1,474,560 0 OSBOOT.IMG

There is no file named boot.cat (i.e. the boot catalog) on drive I:

Both i:\tmp and i:\tmp1 contain exactly the name files.

Now, if I do what you were doing before:

[j:\tmp\0]mkisofs -v -o tmp.iso -r -J -b OSBOOT.IMG -c boot.cat i:/*
mkisofs 1.14 (i386-pc-os2_emx)

Scanning i:/Tmp/cmd

Using SETCV000.CMD;1 for /setcvsroot.cmd (setcvsroot.cmd)
Using CVSUP000.CMD;1 for /cvsupd.cmd (cvsupd.cmd)
Using CVSCO000.CMD;1 for /cvsco.cmd (cvsco.cmd)
D:\MMedia\CDRecord\mkisofs.exe: Error: i:/Tmp1/cvsco.cmd and
i:/Tmp/cvsco.cmd have the same Rock Ridge name
D:\MMedia\CDRecord\mkisofs.exe: Error: i:/Tmp1/setcvsroot.cmd and
i:/Tmp/setcvsroot.cmd have the same Rock Ridge name
D:\MMedia\CDRecord\mkisofs.exe: Error: i:/Tmp/cvsupd.cmd and
i:/Tmp1/cvsupd.cmd have the same Rock Ridge name
D:\MMedia\CDRecord\mkisofs.exe: Unable to sort directory

which is the expected sort errors.
