Subject: SCOUG-Help: 4os2 use and setup

Attempts to copy the MR2ICE mail directory to the HD or an RSJ-attached CDROM puts up the dialog, "There is not enough memory to complete this task." A DIR command on the mail directory produces an error message about too many files to sort. I recalled Steven Levine's advice about CMD being brain dead and got Scitech's 4os2304f. (is that the version to use?) Online help isn't too clear about setting up. Found advice from Steven in an old post to Peter Skye:

"What I do is install everthing to \Apps\4os2 and then move 4os2.exe and
shralias to \usr\bin which in the PATH and jpos2dll to \usr\dll which is
in LIBPATH. I don't need the other executables in PATH."

Can now do a dir command, but don't find much guidance on setting up 4os2 to be the default command processor. Is that good to do? The online help refers to more information in printed documentation which probably is not available as a digital file. Is more than putting SET COMSPEC=c:\4os2.exe in config.sys required?

Thanks,
Ben
