I'm impressed that you make the drive to the SCOUG meetings so often!

Well, I do know which company has been billing us for over 30 years.
Seems like a good indication that we get service from Pac Bell and now
SBC, wouldn't you say?

Yes, Adelphia is high priced, but (surprisingly?) the high speed
Internet service has been almost flawless. My next door neighbor told
me he received an offer for DSL at a lower price, then asked Adelphia,
"Why wouldn't I want to switch?" - and they offered to match the lower
price for 12 months (or maybe it was 6 months). I thought it would be
wise to do the same, IF there actually were an alternative.

When I signed up, I paid $19.95 / month for three months. Then the
price was supposed to go to $39.95. I don't know if I ever got that
price, even for one month, before they started jacking it up. It's now
around $50 / month.
