Subject: SCOUG-Help: Convert to Java 1.4.2

Content Type: text/plain

Hello,
I'm trying to convert my system from Java 1.3.1 (installed with ECS 1.1) to Java 1.4.2. I
think that I'm mostly there, but I have a few lines in my CONFIG.SYS that concern me.

After manually changing some lines in the CONFIG.SYS, my system now states that the
Java version is 1.4.2 (instead of the 1.3.1 version that I use to get). Specifically, I now get
the following at the commandline:

[E:\]java -version
java version "1.4.2_05"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_05-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_05-b04, mixed mode)

However, I also have the following lines in my CONFIG.SYS:

LIBPATH=E:\JAVA142\JRE\BIN;E:\JAVA142\JRE\BIN\CLASSIC:E:\JAVA142\JRE\BIN
\CLIENT;E:\JAVA142\JRE\BIN\SERVER;E:\JAVA142\JRE\JAVAWS;
SET PATH=E:\JAVA142\JRE\BIN;E:\JAVA142\BIN;E:\JAVA11\BIN;
SET JAVA_HIGH_MEMORY=1
SET
CLASSPATH=E:\JAVA11\LIB\SecMa.jar;E:\java11\Swing\swingall.jar;E:\java11\lib\cla
sses.zip;.\.;E:\OS2\JAVAAPPS\LVMGUI.ZIP;E:\TCPIP\java;
SET SWING_HOME=E:\java11\Swing
SET LIB=E:\JAVA142\LIB;

As you can see the "SET PATH", "SET CLASSPATH" and "SET SWING_HOME" lines
refer to JAVA version 1.1. These lines make me believe that I've got a mixture of Java
version 1.1 and version 1.4.2 running. Can anyone help me clean up my CONFIG.SYS
and remove the references to JAVA11 and replace them with the equivalent references
to JAVA142? I've tried to do the best job that I can, but the directory structure has
changed somewhat between these 2 versions. Thanks very much for any help on this.
HCM
