Thanks, Sandy. I already have the drive cloned to a
same-size backup. If it comes to that, I can regard
this initial migration attempt to a larger drive as an
experiment, and just roll the dice on it. The most
I'm apt to lose is some time, and if not too much of
that is at risk, just call this part of a learning
curve.
