Once I have a clue as to what kind of problem you are having, I might have
a suggestion.

It appears that I need to mention what you should already know. Innotek's
Acrobat v4 now qualifies as rather old which means is can not be expected
to every valid PDF format that currently exists. I find the v5 beta more
reliable even though it too is several versions behind the current Abobe
offering.
