Wait. The consensus at the meetings was that we weren't going to block
spam. I don't mind if you tag it and send it on its way, and let the
recipient filter on the tag.
FWIW, I run OS/2 SendMail for outgoing mail on my dynamic DHCP
connection. If I'm assigned an IP that is blocked, I can't post to the
SCOUG lists. This has already happened twice; my ISP (Verizon)
suggested reconnecting until I received an unblocked IP.
The spam isn't a list problem, it's a user account problem -- for
example, you can send mail to user account peter@scoug.com and spam does
arrive at that mailbox -- but I have plenty of filtering here.
The difficulty is "false positivies". If you block the message then
I'll never see it, even the good ones which I want.
Tag the messages all you want to, but don't block them.
