DANIATAP.FLT is v3.0.17 (from the eCS CD - there is a 3.0.18 on Hobbes),
and DANIS506 is v1.7.1 (from Hobbes). If I have to reinstall, I have
the latest DANIATAP on my Boot_Update diskette. Is there any other
source for Daniela's drivers?
Boots take a long, long time, too. I run them with Alt+F2, and from the
time I see PMSHELL.EXE until I see a "graphic" screen (something with a
color background and the ePager on it) is many minutes. Then, to get
the desktop to display, is many minutes more.
Running MPTS and the Selective Install for Networking were both very
time consuming.
On the other hand, installing the Application Pak went pretty fast.

OK, I'll get busy on that.

I've made a little more progress on the NIC. Using the PCI.EXE that
comes with NicPak, Chuck McKinnis ID'ed it for me as a Broadcom
chipset. I unzipped a B57.NIF and B57.OS2 file that Chuck sent me, and
used MPTS to add the "card". I did a "Selective Install for Networking"
to get TCP/IP installed. I tried to very carefully transfer the TCP/IP
settings from the current PC to the new one. At the moment, the PC
boots showing the Broadcom NIC, but DHCP doesn't get started, so I'm not
getting connected. How would I analyze that?
Also, I found "pci049vkd.zip" at Hobbes for future use.

Since Chuck helped me out, I don't have a need to try and get
information from Dell. (Probably, that is lucky for me.)

As always, thanks!
