Colin,
I don't think I can help you much. However, SATA drives are NOT identical to IDE drives. IDE drives
(sometimes called EIDE drives) are the marketing name for parallel ATA drives. SATA (for serial ATA) drives
are different. You can get more information at the following website:
http://www.ata-atapi.com/
That site includes some serious warnings about SATA drives.
I think SATA driver support is new in eCS 1.2. I don't think the drivers are the same as the ones for IDE, such
Daniela's drivers.
Sounds to me like you have some SATA drive issues on your system and that's why the eCS install is taking
so long.
