Google email (Gmail) can be set up as a POP server.
Log on to Gmail.com, then your account, and click 'settings'.
That will give you a choice (something about 'Forwarding and POP').
On that page select the POP variation you want and click on the help link.
The help instructions cover a number of email clients including Mozilla.
The instructions are good enough for even me to collect my Gmail via POP.
