OK. Can I assume you checked RESOLV and RESOLV2 after connecting? This
is the only time the content is really relevant.

Steven,

I checked RESOLV and RESOLV2 after connecting and there were no changes to the files.

If you continue to have problems, it's time for iptrace. See:

for setup. Send the formatted trace file my way if you can't figure out
what it is telling you. Are you sure you don't have Mozilla set up to use
a proxy?

No, Mozilla and Firefox both are set up as "direct connection to the internet".

Please find 3 formatted trace files in the attachment. The first one was created with both RESOLV and RESOLV2 as empty files. The second one resulted from RESOLV2 as attached. The third one resulted from the contents of RESOLV2 copied into RESOLV.

When I installed ECS 1.2 I chose "Easy" installation. The installer detected my 3Com NIC which I don't use. I don't have a LAN in the house as this project has long ago been relegated to the "too hard to do" box. This resulted in some networking components being installed which I don't need and which may be contributing to the problem. Any statements in the attached CONFIG.SYS I could REM out?

Thanks for your help,

John
