On a recent trip, I tried to access a wireless connection at a library
using my WiFi card in my Thinkpad 600E laptop.

With Windows, I logged on automatically and the monitoring utility showed
a connection at 11 Mbit/s with strength "excellent."

Under OS/2, however, in the same library, the IBM WiFi status utility
said:

Status: Searching for internet connection
SSID: SSID@ 0Mbit/s

But as soon as I got home, the OS/2 connection found my access point and
connected immediately. So the card is functioning properly.

Is there some setting I need to tweak? The documentation for the IBM WiFi
State utility says that leaving the SSID field blank in Profiles is the
same as ANY, and is the preferred setting for WiFi hotspots.

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.
