Have you asked Wayne to analyze the corrupted INI?

I don't recall saying this, but I often forget stuff. What is true is
that some applications put their paths in the front of LIBPATH for no good
reason. I do recommend putting the "." reference as close as possible. I
attempt to organize LIBPATH so that the directories referenced most often
are near the front.

No. There's no need for a "." reference in PATH unless you are running
unix. OSs with a DOS heritage always do an implicit search of the working
directory before searching via PATH.
