First, what I think you are doing.
You have your own private email server running on a DSL connection. That email
server sends email directly to other email servers (this is normal server
operation). Doing this you are subject to some anti-spam tactics that will
block some of your email. Some ISPs block all outgoing port 25 except to their
own email servers to stop spam but in your case that is not being done because
your email is being blocked by the recipients email server.
What you can do to get around these anti-spam tactics.
What you do is use your own ISPs email server as the out-bound email server.
To do this you configure your email server to always use your ISPs email server
as a relay. I don't know how to configure Sendmail for this but do know how to
do it with Weasel. Weasel has a configuration page labeled "relay" just for
this kind of thing. I would expect that sendmail has a similar option because
it is a normal function for going through firewalls.
