Terrific resource. Lots of information over a wide variety of USB-related
topics. It represents a terrific amount of work. Truly amazing. Renews my
faith in OS/2-eCS.

Attaching it to a test WinXP machine shows it to be formatted FAT only. This
seems to say that if the hardware connection worked, the FS shouldn't be a
barrier.

It never shows up as a hardware recognized device. All my tests had the USB
device monitor running which seem to be a good indicator of hardware
visibility. LVM's not going to see it if it's not even seen at a hardware
level.

Another terrific resource. Unfortunately, the results didn't change. The
table below will summarize the results (sorry for any misalignment in your
screen, change to monospace font to see better) with the base eCS drivers (for
UHCI, USBD and USBMSD.ADD) and Chris Wohlgemuth's (CW) driver replacements.

Device\Driver-Combo A) eCS 1.2 w/10145 update B) CW v1.2 C) CW v1.1
D) 10145 w/CWUSBMSD.ADD
1) Jungsoft 64MB Flash Drive A1) Good B1) Good C1) Good
D1) Good
2) Creative Noman Muvo 64MB A2) Good B2) Good C2) Bad
D2) Good
3) Creative N200 A3) Bad B3) Bad C3) Bad
D3) Bad

The only reason I put up the whole table was the C2) result was somewhat
surprising since it represented somewhat of a regression. I also believe that
in that test, the usb device monitor showed the physical connection but it
never made it to the drives folder. In another minor improvement, all the
'bad' results of row 3 were not quite equal. Chris's beep indicator in some
cases showed recognition only upon disconnect (not the more significant and
desirable 'when plugged in' variety). The bottom line though is that it just
doesn't work. It's not a hardware problem either since it appeared to work
fine in the XP machine.

> Don't give up yet...

It's getting hard unfortunately. With the resources and suggestions you
provided (thank you tremendously for your help, by the way), I became extremely
confident I could resolve the problem. The failure has left me even more
disappointed. As usual, I welcome any additional ideas, suggestions or
otherwise. I'm getting to the point of having to make the decision to return
it so I would ask for the responses, of whatever variety, be quick. Thanks.
