(Note: I have also asked this question in comp.os.os2.misc, but I
haven't seen any responses yet.)
I'm using IBM's VisualAge for COBOL product.
When I create a COBOL Project, the product wants to store the
information about the project in C:\Desktop\COBOL Projects. I would
prefer not to store this information on the C: drive, as I could lose it
if I have to format that drive to reinstall the operting system, etc.
It is possible for me to override where the project information is
stored; for example, I can tell the dialog to store it on drive F:, in
directory "COBOL Projects".
However, the first time I create a project, the product creates a folder
on the Desktop, and it has a "Real Name" on the "File" page of
"C:\Desktop\COBOL Projects", and it is empty. (I assume that is where
VA COBOL is going to look for its project files.) I would like to
create a folder for my purposes which is identical to this one, except
that it would have a "real name" of F:\COBOL Projects.
VisualAge for COBOL allows me to get to my project(s) another way, but
I'd like to make this way work if I can.
How would I create the folder that I need? I can't figure out how to
make it work from Templates. Can I create a folder using REXX?
Assuming I can, where can I learn how to specify the information?
Thanks,
Colin
