Who do you think is going to give you DSL service? All those other companies
just resell the phone companies DSL service. So no matter which company you go
with for DSL your local phone company is doing the actual DSL hookup. Shop for
price, speed, and features and go with the best offer.
When I got DSL I called Verizon and ordered DSL service only. Then I called my
ISP and told them my circuit number and they gave me a fixed IP. Now if I want
to change ISPs I just need to tell the new ISP my circuit number (that is
unless they have signed an exclusive contract with on of those resellers).
