Hey thanks, Steven, however sox-12.17.1 from Hobbes does not seem to
support the .WMA format, at least according to the sox.txt document
included in the archive. :-((

I guess I will have to use something from the dark side from whence
these files are coming. There are several programs on download.com, most
with a less-than-sterling recommendation in the reviews. Some say they
work great and others nsay they crashed! Luckily, this is a one time shot.
