While I have no way to prove or disprove this at the moment, it is
extremely unlikely. HPFS386 is an optional add-on for WSeB and the
documents make no mention of this requirement. This is not a typical IBM
omission.
I have the 9/2003 version of these drivers which are marked:
@#OEM:1.0#@ Adaptec Ultra320 Family Driver for OS/2 (d1.0 9/5/2003)
If I get sufficiently curious, I will check the code more closely for
indications that it cares about the the existance of HPFS386. A quick
glance at the binaries shows no evidence of such. An .ADD driver would
have to go to extraordinary lengths to do such a check.
If you have a newer version of the driver and you send it my way I will
test this rather than what I have.
