Thank you Ray and Steven for your responses. Yes, you should take me literally.
Actually, I had ECSMT 2.18.1 install the InnoTek OS/2 Kit for Java SDK 1.4.2_05.
However, after doing that I noticed that I still had Java 1.3.1 as the loaded version. I went
to the CONFIF.SYS and tried to clean that up, manually, by changing the various
version 1.3.1 references to equivalent ones for version 1.4.2. Looking at the directory
structures for the 2 versions, however, I was not sure that I did it correctly, because the 2
directory structures are different. And also, my CONFIG.SYS referenced version 1.1, to
put another spin on my confusion.
I fully expected ECSMT 2.1.8.1 to automatically change my system from 1.3.1 to 1.4.2. I
was surprised when it did not do so.
Right now Mozilla 1.7.6 installation references Java versions 1.4.2, 1.3.1, 1.2 and 1.1 for
plugins (see below for the Java plugins). So, it will be interesting to see how well Mozilla
works.
