This strikes me as purely a matter of personal taste.
Tony's presentations are always very good, and I'm
glad I saw this one too, but I still lean towards the
seamless, integrated suite approach for browser +
email. In a pinch, newsgroups too, though you can
probably make a good argument in favor of better tools
for that category. IF, at some point, the suite
development ceases (and that would include any
separate efforts by someone like Weilbacher), I guess
we'd be forced to follow the separate products, in
order to keep up with security bugfixes, etc. Until
that day arrives, I plan to stick with the suite.

Adelphia blows ! (I'm hoping Time Warner takes them
over in our area, as that would likely be a lot better
than if Comcast gets them.) But you have no ultimate
dependence on them as your source for newsgroups.
Don't forget that you can pick up most -- or maybe ALL
-- of the OS/2 and eCS newsgroups from the news server
at
news.consultron.ca
