Hi Jerry,
Since I've got you here momentarily, I'd like to
refresh my memory on something. I seem to recall your
telling me that a major reason why some multimedia
stuff can't run on our platform, no-how no-way, is
that Winblows makes heavy use of DMA for this, and
OS/2 | eCS doesn't. That this was a fundamental
approach to running the hardware, and therefore not
really susceptible to emulation. Is that a correct
paraphrase of what you told me ?
(I'm mainly thinking of app.s that manipulate video
streams here.)
