No one posted an answer for this, but -- for the
record --I think I found a partial answer. There is a
checkbox in Moz Preferences that allows the install of
software (i.e., Extensions or Plug-Ins) . . . or
doesn't. This checkbox may be a fairly recent
addition. That proved to be the cure in one case. In
another partition it made no difference; I had to
uninstall and reinstall Moz.
Also, take note that you need to quit Moz and restart
it after installing many of these extensions, in order
for them to become available.
