I was using proprietary backup software on my external 200 GB USB drive
(it boots from a CD), when, after doing a Verify operation, I got an error
message that the backup was corrupted. The hard drive was then unreadable.
Under OS/2 it says the drive is not accessable.
Under DFSEE, it says: "Master Boot Record not valid. Disk getdeviceparams
failed."
I tried the command for "new MBR code," and I tried wiping the first 10 mb
of the drive, but I still get the same error.
If I try to create a new LVM volume, it seems to create, but then after
exiting LVM, there is no new volume there.
Does this sound like a hard drive crash, or is there something I can do
with DFSEE to fix it?
Thanks,
Sandy
