That's that idiotic, proprietary MS abommination that
causes the Type 05 vs. Type 0F discontinuity, for US.
Windoze & Win programs (such as Drive Image or
Partition Magic) default to setting it the _wrong_
way, as far as we're concerned. This is all for no
good reason I'm aware of, except perhaps another
artificially enforced incompatibility. If the
Extended wrapper gets set this way, ALL the partitions
therein DISAPPEAR, insofar as OUR ability to detect or
access them goes. Jan put a menu feature into DFSEE
for setting the partition type back to the old
standard. Otherwise, you'd have to use something like
PTEDIT.

Keeping things OUR way does not seem to impede your
ability to run W2K or XP from other boot partitions.
At least not *yet.* (Give them some time . . . . )
