I was messing around on a message board I frequent, and someone pointed
to a Web site with several classical *.MID files.
I figured I could play some of those if I wanted to, so I clicked on
"Bolero". This ended up downloading the bolero.mid file to my
F:\LotusW4\Temp directory. I tried double clicking on it, and nothing
happened. (I was guessing that I lack proper file associations.)
I also tried opening Programs, Multimedia, Midi, and specifying the file
location. This results in an error message, "Unable to open Bolero.mid.
(rc=5134)". I do get a nice system sound alerting me to the error, though.
Finally, I tried opening files in the C:\MMOS2\SOUNDS directory. The
two or three I tried all got the same error.
I looked a the Properties of bluejam.mid in C:\MMOS2\SOUNDS, and it
looked the same as Bolero.mid.
How do I make my system play MIDI files?
Thanks,
Colin
