My new motherboard is the same brand (Asus) as the old one, but it has
different features. I am unable to get LAN working or USB.
LAN
PCI says I have nForce4 Ethernet controller on both motherboard, but the
new one also says I have Marvell Semiconductor Yukon PCI Gigabit
Ethernet controller.
During boot up, General Mac Driiver (latest) loads and says:
"Hardware XXXX"
There is no DHCP error message, but DHCP client is not running.
(according to DHCP monitor)
I can always add a third party LAN card, but it would be good if I could
get the onboard LAN running. Is this realistic?
USB
During boot I get the mesage:
USBMSD: USB.Sys driver not loaded.
I checked the system BIOS, and everything related to USB is Enabled.
Is there something more I can tweak?
I'd hate to have to put back the old motherboard, but right now I am
doing everything from my laptop.
Thanks,
Sandy
