I should have said more than just single chip. Actually they were all 754.

My point is to be prepared for failure modes that you never heard of before.

Actually that is the sort of stuff I usually buy because I am a sucker
for last months hot item that they are now giving away because there is
now a hotter one. I will buy anything online that I am willing to eat.

And I will let you know if any of my ten dollar power supplies ever die.
The last time I lost a PS it was one of those huge AT supplies.
