I would not expect that to work, not enough voltage output from the phono.

Some amps have computer connections. The headphone jack could be used into an
analog to digital card on a computer.

I just received a *ION turntable for Christmas. It can be plugged into an amp
or computer with the audio output cables (there is a switch to change the
output voltage depending on which device you are connecting to). There is also
a USB port to connect to a computer. They supply a freeware program "Audacity"
to install on the computer. Looking at the web site
http://audacity.sourceforge.net I only see windows, MAC, and linux ports. I
don't know if the is an OS/2 port as I have not done any searching.
