By complete copy, do you mean no compressed images ?  
I don't know if this qualifies, but after my failed 
migration attempt, I put back the last eCS 1.1 boot 
partition from a DFSEE .IMZ file in a matter of 
minutes.  It looks to be a full and functional 
"turning back the clock."  I don't think I could ask 
for any better than that.
