Why, because you have a huge emotional investment in your current desk
top. Every system needs a zero-base-budget once in a while. Use this
as an excuse to clean house and rethink what you want to do.
Also, don't replace the earlier version. What if the new turns out to
be worse than the old? Install the new alongside the old. Fiddle
with the new at your leisure. If at some point you decide you like
the new better, get rid of the old.
