Well, I'm just NOT going to give up on the things I've
painstakingly done to and all the stuff I've put into
that partition. So, it's either this, or try a clean
install + attempt to apply a UNIMAINT Portable Backup
over top of it, to force the "personality transplant."
(And that's apt to be plenty dicey, too.) If neither
method is going to be viable, then the hell with it.
I was basically satisfied with that 1.1 partition as
it was. It had USB working -- more or less -- and
covered the functionality it needed to cover. (The
more critical eCS partition in this box is a 1.2 GA,
and that's fine too.)
Technically, there is a 3rd. alternative: eCSMT
umpteen components to the 1.2R level. Then, it's just
some relatively minor UI differences. But that would
be a major project I'm not really up for. Not now, or
maybe at all.
I'm just disappointed that they haven't done better by
this yet. And I wonder if they ever will.
