I have the diskette images on CD. If I have time, I may do a test install
during tonight's help desk. I'm a bit curious as to what is really
failing.
OK. The good news is I needed to bring up my test box for something else.
The bad news is I tested the gu install.
The version you purchased will not install from anywhere but diskette.
Even so, with a bit of hoop jumping you could install this version on your
Thinkpad. IMO, this is a last resort.
The files on the GU CD will install just fine if the files are copied to
hard disk. Even this installer wants to access a diskette, but this
occurs near enough to the end of the install not to matter all that much.
I would just send you a copy of the install.exe from the CD, but it will
not work for you because it expects files to exist that you do not have.
I recommend you contact Chris Graham and ask him what to do. If he says
it's OK, I can zip up a set of files that will install from hard disk.
Regards,
Steven
