As someone (Casey Stengel?) once said "Deja Vu all over again"!
I think Unimix can tell from the hardware somehow what controls are
present, but there is no documentation. In addition, each sound card is
different. You might try to find developer information for your sound
card (chip). Failing that you will have to play with it yourself. Unimix
will list the controls for you, but not really identify them. You might
also try LBMix.
