Subject: SCOUG-Help: Printer for eCS...?

Content Type: text/plain

Martin,

If the alternatives don't look good, there is nothing
stopping you from buying one of the prior Epson
models. I bought both of my older model Epson photo
printers on Ebay a few years ago, and they are still
in good service. They are not state of the art (one
of them is the model 1160, which had been a favorite
of Tony's for a long time), but more than good enough
for my needs. Since these were better quality models
in their day, and still sought after at the time, I
did not get what you would call a great deal on them.
The C8x series would probably be much more modestly
priced, sold used.

Cartiridges for all these models are still available,
though some are easier to find than others. I flinch
from the cost of genuine Epson cartridges, though
would probably get some if / when I had some photo
stuff to do requiring maximum quality. For what I do,
the cheapie generics I buy at the Pomona show seem to
suffice.

Jordan
