This says the bootloader is unhappy with some data in the volume. The
bootloader is responsible for loading os2boot and os2ldr. If the drive is
developing problems, perhaps something in the bootloader code has become
corrupted.
Since chkdsk is not finding any problems, I would recommend restoring
copies of os2boot, od2ldr and os2krnl from your backups. Then run
sysinstx to rewrite the bootloader.
This might not fix you problem, but it's very likely to make things worse.
If you still have problems, you can always use dfsee or gammatech to do a
surface scan of the partition.
