Did you run sysinstx?  You'll probably need to find a copy on your Warp4  
CD.

Can I assume that when you run the dfsee check command, it reports no  
errors?

It's not my favorite recovery method, but it might be the simplest  
alternative.  Other than time, you won't lose anything.  Since you can get  
at the volume from your eCS install, you can copy any files that have  
changed since the last backup and restore them once the Warp4 volume is  
bootable.
