CHAP is an authentication method and that is what is failing.

This is one aspect of settting up the authentication method. In addtion,
there is the Login Sequence entry field. Make sure this field is exactly
the same on both machines. Usually it needs to be totally blank with no
extraneous white space.

This should not matter.
