The most powerful HDD setup tool for us is still Partition Magic 6.

I have done what you want two ways. On my laptop both WXP and W2K are
both on C: primaries. eCS is on extended E:. They are selected by BM.
Apps and data follow and are FAT32 for compatibility. I installed WXP
first because I only have a "recover" CD which cleans the HDD of
everything. The other OSs can be installed in any order.

My desktop is done the way I prefer. C: is FAT16. Among other things
it holds Acronis OS Selector V5. Everything else is extended. W2K
makes some use of C: but is mostly on I:. W4 is on FAT16 E, eCS 1.2 and
2.0 are on HPFS F and G. H is FAT16 for apps. J is FAT32 for other
apps. K is FAT32 for data. L&M are HPFS for extra stuff. The OSs can
be installed\reinstalled in any order.

However that last part for me is not quite true. I have never gotten
eCS to install on a "USED" HDD except for my laptop. For a desktop I
install eCS as a primary on a clean, 3G HDD, and give it the drive
letter I chose. I then copy it to an extended on the work machine.
