Thanks for your help. I think I finally figured out what to do. First, I
am afraid of DFSee until some one holds my hand and teaches me how to
use it. Here is what I did:
Harddrive 2 has eCS20 beta2, WINMe, et al. on it. I worked only on HD 1.
I used an old DOS utility booted from floppy to wipe HD 1 (restoring its
virginity--isn't modern medicine marvelous!).
I booted from an eCS installation floppy and partitioned HD1, installing
Boot Manager, a 50 MB C: and a few other partitions for WIN2K and data, etc.
I rebooted and ran WIN2K installation CD. WIN2K turned off BM, formatted
C: as FAT, and installed WIN2K where I wanted it on HPFS. I then ran
WIN2K and made BM again active.
Now I can boot to Windows and various flavors of eCS (until it crashed
and wipes out my harddrives!).
I love SCOUG-help: each time I post a question I finally figure out the
answer myself.
Martin
