I use Supernews, it costs me $5.95/mo for 2GB of data. The
retention is based on the group activity. The comp.os.os2.xxx
groups go back many months due to the relative lack of activity
(compared to the most popular groups, which may go back only a few
weeks).
There is also Giganews and Easynews. I've used all of them at one
time or another but prefer Supernews.

pay servers.
