In the process of trying out a new motherboard, I did something to my SCSI
adapter -- a LSI Logic Symbios sym20810.
This adapter has an internal connector going to my removeable SCSI hard
drive -- non bootable -- for backups only, and an external connector that
goes to my HP Scanner.
If nothing is connected, the computer boots fine and recognizes the
adapter. If my hard drive is connected, the computer hangs during the boot
process (I think just after loading HPFS.IFS). If the hard drive is
disconnected and the scanner is connected, it boots fine and recognizes
the scanner. But if I go to start PMSANE, I get a trap 0008 error.
I thought I would try a different adapter, but all I have is a Tekram
DC-315, and the OS/2 driver I found -- TRM3X5.ADD -- doesn't load during
boot. Either I am not loading it right, or it is the wrong driver.
Question:
Is there a way to trouble shoot the LSI adapter?
If not, is there an OS/2 driver available for the Tekram DC-315?
If not, is there an adapter that someone could recommend. It has to
support the 50 pin SCSI cable that goes to my hard drive, and the external
connector I can't describe, but it goes to my ancient HP Scanner.
Thanks,
Sandy
