That's the correct response and mmpm2.ini looks fine for a box with no
sound card.

Hmmm. It is a beta. Perhaps something got broken in minstall. However,
I'm not seeing anything that indicates it was updated recently. Did you
check the logs?

You might want to try

uniaudinst03.zip 11913 2006/09/16 Installation/Uninstallation support
for UniAud

and

unisnddr.zip 1537373 2006/02/07 Universal Audio Drivers

from Hobbes. Perhaps one of these will help.
