This is technically more difficult that it would appear. These days with
CSS and XML and such, the formatting instructions are often not with the
text.

It's feasible. You might try experimenting with opening URLs in OOorg's
Text Writer. This is basically an import function. Once you get the
document into Writer, you can do anything you want with it.
