There isn't. It's just the funny way non-developers have of using the
word. To them anything that does not work the way they expect it to is
called a bug. The fact that OS/S FAT file system logic has not changed
for over a decade is sort of lost on them. The bug, if one wants to call
it that, is the Blackberry's lack of robust file system logic.

FWIW, device's like the Blackberry have on the order of 128MB of ROM and
often are Java capable. I suspect there's some ROM space available for
fixes such as this.
